Connect sensor data to workflows

A connector brings sensor data into Infodeck. A workflow uses those measurements to trigger an action, such as notifying a team when a room becomes too warm. Configure and verify the connection before building the workflow.

Quick summary: Connect your provider in Settings → Integrations, register a sensor with the correct Asset Type, confirm useful readings, then configure the workflow condition and action.

1. Connect your provider

Follow the matching guide in Integrations & Connectors. Each provider has different settings; a saved connector alone does not prove that readings arrive.

For managed networks or an existing messaging connection, see Managed connectors. Some setup is handled by Infodeck and is not available through Add connector.

2. Confirm the measurements

  1. Register the sensor with the correct connector, identifier, location and Asset Type.
  2. Wait for a new report from the sensor or the provider's scheduled collection.
  3. Open the asset and check its latest report time, Reading history and current measurement values.
  4. Confirm the measurement names and units match those you plan to use in the workflow.

If the device appears but values are missing, check the identifier and Asset Type before relying on an alert.

3. Create the workflow

Follow Smart workflows to configure the condition and action. Test the complete result with one sensor before applying it more widely.

For example, first confirm that a meeting-room sensor reports a temperature in degrees Celsius. Then create and test the temperature condition and its notification action. Receiving a reading does not by itself confirm that a notification was delivered.
